A welcoming, largely unprejudiced community of colorful locals call Sandpoint home. Presented here are but a few of the town’s most noteworthy residents.
Role Mayor of Sandpoint
Race Human; Gender Female; Age 31
Kendra didn’t initially want to job of mayor, but after she was nominated by her close friend Casp Avertin, she won the election by a landslide, something her primary opponent in the election, Titus Scarnetti, has never quite come to terms with. After Casp’s death at Chopper’s hands, Kendra has put aside thoughts of romance in favor of politics.
Role Town Sheriff
Race Human; Gender Male; Age 28
Belor inherited the position of Sheriff after the last holder, Casp Avertin, was murdered, and Belor tracked the serial killer down. He is the first Shoanti sheriff of Sandpoint – indeed, the first Shoanti to hold any position of authority in town. After becoming sheriff, Belor changed his surname from Viskalai to Hemlock – a choice that angered his brother Garridan.
Role Father (High-Priest)
Race Human; Gender Male; Age 42
Abstalar Zantus took over the position of Father and head of the faith in Sandpoint after fire claimed the chapel and its well-loved cleric, Ezakien Tobyn. As Tobyn’s most accomplished student, Father Zantus is himself a priest of Desna, and is very open about matters of faith. The years have seen him slip into the role of advisor and counselor for worshipers of all gods.
Role Local Noble
Race Human; Gender Male; Age 44
The only surviving son of the Scarnetti noble family, Titus controls Sandpoint’s mills and the lumber industry. Titus is married, and has several daughters and sisters, but remains the only male of his line to date. The Scarnettis have always been the voice of tradition and moral superiority, and cling to values that many in Sandpoint consider ridiculously outdated.

Race Human; Gender Male; Age 48
Lonjiku Kaijitsu is the richest man in Sandpoint, his family’s Glassworks being one of the town’s most prosperous businesses. He is a dour individual, and has found the role of father to be one he is ill-suited for. After his wife’s fatal accident five years ago, Lonjiku’s attitude has only grown worse, beset by flashes of temper and long periods of sullen depression.
Role Owner of the Rusty Dragon
Race Human; Gender Female; Age 22
The only child of Lonjiku Kaijitsu and heir to his extensive fortunes, Ameiko remains disinterested in wealth or power, preferring to run her small tavern and listen to the stories of passing travelers. Years ago Ameiko defied her father and ran away to become an adventurer, only to return a year ago with a small fortune but a broken heart.

Race Human; Gender Male; Age 71
Brodert Quink claims to have spent two decades of his youth studying with dwarven engineers at Janderhoff and three more decades as a cataloger at the Founder’s Archive in Magnimar. He is constantly baffled that his research hasn’t afforded him more prestige; this may have more to do with his strange theories about ancient Thassilon and its supposed ‘war machines’.

Race Half-Elf; Gender Female; Age 34
Rynshinn never knew her father, only that he was killed by goblins a week after she was born. She was raised by her mother, Vernah, and took over the run of their family shop after her mother was killed during Chopper’s murder spree. A number of young man idly court Rynshinn, but to date she has politely eschewed all suitors for reasons she hasn’t shared.
Role Playwright; owner of the Sandpoint Theater
Race Human; Gender Male; Age 26
Cyrdak was forced to flee Magnimar years ago for reasons he is eager to hint at but reluctant to expound upon. He prefers to source local talent for performances at the Sandpoint Theater, but he still has contacts in Magnimar and occasionally uses them to ensure that all the most exciting new performances from the big city pass through Sandpoint as well.
Role Grocer; owner of the General Store
Race Human; Gender Male; Age 46
Ven Vinder has run the general store for years, providing all manner of tools, furniture and food – including his wife Solsta’s home-cooked pies. Ven dotes on his two daughters, Katrine and Shayliss. Recently, however, rumors of a budding romance between Katrine and “that no-good Harker from the lumber-mill” have made him increasingly irate.
Role Local Minx
Race Human; Gender Female; Age 17
Youngest daughter of Ven Vinder, Shayliss lives a sheltered life and longs to go and live in Magmimar. Bored with being her daddy’s precious baby girl, Shayliss has developed a growing reputation in town for shameless promiscuity – only her father’s current concern over Katrine’s rumored lovelife has kept him blind to Shayliss’ activities for so long.
Role Owner of the Fatman’s Feedbag
Race Human; Gender Male; Age 29
Proprietor of the seediest inn in town, Vhiski is one of many local Varisians who manage to give all Varisians a bad name. Rumors abound that Vhiski is part of the Sczarni – an extended network of thieves and smugglers, many of whom Sheriff Hemlock has uncovered and sent to jail. Unfortunately, Vhiski himself always appears frustratingly clean.
